Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring compound found in hemp plants. It offers a variety of health benefits without any psychoactive effects.
CBD can offer mental and physical relief through several kinds of delivery systems. CBD is derived from the federally legal hemp plant.
Hemp is not a new plant! It’s sturdy fibers have been use for centuries in industrial and medical applications. Historically hemp has been used in ship and home building, rope making and cloth production.
CBD is extracted and separated from hemp as an oil, which is then used in varying concentrations and delivery forms to provide relief to users.
Please note: because CBD is isolated from THC in the extraction process, CBD products do not produce the “high” associated with THC in cannabis. Plenty products contain less than 0.3% THC.
US government-sponsored scientific and clinical research has determined that CBC is an appealing option for pain relief, inflammation, anxiety, and many other conditions – without creating lethargy, paranoia, or uneasiness. While the cannabinoids in Plenty products are extracted from hemp, our bodies also produce them. In fact, cannabinoids are even found in breast milk.
CBD takes advantage of the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) in our bodies. This important physiological system works in conjunction with our immune and central nervous systems to achieve and maintain a stable internal environment.
The ECS includes two types of cannabinoid receptor sites:
CB-1 found in the central nervous system
CB-2 found in the immune system.
These receptors bind with cannabinoids to create a natural, healthy balance from the inside out.
Research has found that cannabinoids reduce the release of sensitizers from damaged tissue at injury sites. They stabilize nerve cells to prevent excess firing while calming immune cells to prevent the release of pro-inflammatory substances, resulting in the reduction of pain, swelling and further injury.
Even small doses of CBD signal the body to activate dormant receptors and help maintain the receptor’s optimum capacity. This increases the body’s sensitivity to cannabinoids, allowing smaller doses of CBD to provide greater effects.
In fact, it sometimes takes a few doses of CBD to “wake up” the ECS and set the relief in motion as more receptors form. Please be patient.
